Finance Authority for Nonprofit Corporations (FAN)

ABAG Finance Authority, or FAN, provided conduit financing to various public and private entities throughout the State of California since 1978.

FAN was the predecessor to Advancing California Financing Authority, or ACFA.

ACFA now continues ABAG’s work of providing secure, low cost and convenient financing for public agencies and their partners who serve the public interest.

FAN History

FAN provided more than $8 billion in low cost investment capital for projects in more than 240 jurisdictions from around the State. It helped public agencies and their partners provide for construction of affordable, multi-family housing; new hospitals and medical clinics; transit systems; schools; non-profit cultural institutions; water and wastewater systems; and other local member-owned infrastructure projects.

FAN had a long history in assisting in the construction and preservation of affordable housing. It provided financing for nearly 12,000 units in nearly 100 affordable apartment communities.
