2026 General Assembly

A quorum of delegates to the ABAG General Assembly convened at the Bay Area Metro Center on June 18 to pass the Fiscal Year 2026-2027 ABAG Budget & Work Program. Libby Schaaf, President & CEO of the Bay Area Council, kicked off the day with a keynote speech on the importance of regional collaboration. The General Assembly also elected Rohnert Park Councilmember Sue Adams as the next President of the ABAG Executive Board and Solano County Supervisor Wanda Williams as Vice President.

ABAG staff presented an overview of the upcoming Regional Housing Needs Allocation, Cycle 7 and answered questions from the delegates. After the presentation, panelists Jennifer Carman, Development Services Director, City of Morgan Hill and Leelee Thomas, Deputy Director of Housing, Community Development Agency, County of Marin, joined moderator Lisa Motoyama, ABAG Housing Committee Vice Chair and City of El Cerrito Councilmember, to share their communities’ experience with strategic collaboration to develop and implement Housing Elements.
