Even if you never drop a quarter in a parking meter, there is no such thing as free parking. Parking spots on the street or in a garage are precious commodities. Giving spots away for free, or pricing them too cheaply can actually add to traffic congestion and pollute our air. City planners gathered at MTC to hear from parking experts on why parking should be critical to city planning and why the public should care.
