Recently, there have been significant statutory changes to Regional Housing Needs Assessment (RHNA) and Housing Element law. The state has also set very ambitious regional housing numbers. This will make the Housing Element update more difficult than in years past, and many jurisdictions will need to take bold actions to plan for new housing numbers.
This webinar was created by the Association of Bay Area Governments (ABAG) and Housing and Community Development (HCD) to support jurisdictions in the development of Housing Element updates.
It is the first of a 10-part workshop series, part of the Regional Housing Technical Assistance program at ABAG. This program leverages one-time funding from the Regional Early Action Planning (REAP) grant program to support local staff in updating their housing elements to reflect the new RHNA requirements.
