ABAG has launched the Regional Housing Technical Assistance (RHTA) with the support of funding from the California Department of Housing and Community Development (HCD). The program assists local jurisdictions in adopting compliant Housing Elements, supports Bay Area jurisdictions in planning for and facilitating adequate housing to meet projected needs, and helps ensure everyone remains competitive for various state funding programs that support housing for all income levels.
As the Bay Area’s Council of Governments, ABAG received funding from HCD through the Regional Early Action Planning (REAP) grants program on a population-based formula, totaling roughly $23.9 million. The funding will support housing-related work through the end of December 2023.
