In May, staff will ask the Regional Planning Committee to recommend that the Executive Board approve the Final RHNA Methodology and the Draft RHNA Allocations. Recently, HCD confirmed that the ABAG Draft Methodology furthers the RHNA objectives.
As a result of this finding, ABAG can now approve the Draft RHNA Methodology as the Final RHNA Methodology without additional modifications. Provided approvals, the release of the Draft RHNA Allocations initiates the RHNA appeals phase that will happen in summer and fall 2021.
Also in May, the Administrative Committee and Executive Board will be considering approval of the procedures for how the appeals process will be conducted. See ABAG’s RHNA FAQ document for basic overview of the appeals process.
