Planning departments and practitioners are now operating years into the future. Traditional norms of delivering in person permitting services and community engagement will never be the same. Adjusting to the pandemic required evolution in the dynamic use of new virtual meeting and permitting tools, collaborative methods, and performance benchmarks. In many ways this shift has been empowering and refreshingly effective for planners and the public. This session will focus on what has worked in the planning department, community engagement and consensus building realms, how we adapt to the future and what we may want to retain from past practice. Join us for two panel discussions to hear lessons learned from those with first-hand experience in the planning office and in the public engagement forum.
