New ABAG webpage showcases areas in San Francisco Bay Area that have been locally-identified and regionally vetted for conservation through the FOCUS Initiative.
These Priority Conservation Areas (PCAs) are areas of regional significance that have broad community support and an urgent need for protection. These areas provide important agricultural, natural resource, historical, scenic, cultural, recreational, and/or ecological values and ecosystem functions
This informative webpage describes each area and who to contact for more information. The purpose of the Priority Conservation Area Showcase is to attract funding to these areas and facilitate partnerships for the permanent protection of the region’s natural resources and quality of life.
