Deadline for Technical Assistance and Planning Grants

Closes February 12: Call for Letters of Interest

Jurisdictions interested in ABAG’s Technical Assistance and Planning Grants should take note of the upcoming February 12, 2021 deadline to submit Letters of Interest to support local Housing Elements and Priority Development Areas (PDAs).

The solicitation combines the Regional Early Action Planning (REAP) grants and PDA Program to streamline the application process and maximize roughly $12 million in available funding. This funding is divided into three categories: REAP non-competitive, REAP competitive, and PDA Planning and Technical Assistance.

Every jurisdiction in the Bay Area is entitled to non-competitive funding to support Housing Element updates, and jurisdictions with locally nominated PDAs are eligible to apply for competitive planning and technical assistance grants.  

Additional details about the programs are available, including the online application, a detailed guidance document and recordings of webinars to assist jurisdictions with the application process. Staff from local jurisdictions are encouraged to email with any questions. The application deadline is February 12, 2021.
