Technical Assistance
From the Association of Bay Area Governments (ABAG) and Metropolitan Transportation Commission (MTC)
Bay Area city, town and county staff will find ABAG and MTC technical assistance resources for energy, equity, housing, land use, resilience, transportation and infrastructure projects and programs. Webinars, grants, toolkits, white-papers, case studies and more to help with planning or implementation of policies and projects in their jurisdictions.
Energy
ABAG and the Metropolitan Transportation Commission offer regional-scale energy efficiency programs and services that deliver targeted climate solutions focused on energy, water and resilience.
Equity
The Association of Bay Area Governments’ Executive Board and the Metropolitan Transportation Commission both adopted the Equity Platform in January 2023. The Equity Platform is based on a commitment to meaningfully reverse disparities in access and dismantle systemic exclusion. The Technical Assistance Portal includes resources that can help local governments join us in our commitment to creating a Bay Area where everyone can thrive.

Housing
ABAG is working with our partners to promote changes in housing policies to create a Bay Area where there is enough safe and affordable housing for all residents.

Land Use
The Bay Area is expected to be home to an additional 1.4 million households by the year 2050. It is important that the different types of transportation, housing and other land use planning work together — as part of a regional growth framework — to create an equitable, prosperous future for all Bay Area communities and make the best use of available resources.

Resilience
Resilience resources from ABAG, the Bay Conservation and Development Commission, the Metropolitan Transportation Commission and the San Francisco Estuary Partnership help protect the Bay Area from the negative effects of earthquakes, floods, landslides and fires — as well as prepare for climate change hazards like sea level rise, extreme storms and drought.

Transportation & Infrastructure
ABAG and the Metropolitan Transportation Commission offer planning resources to help a complicated transportation system work better for residents and visitors — now and in the future.
