More than 160 city, town and county elected officials and stakeholders from throughout the region attended the Association of Bay Area Governments' (ABAG) Spring General Assembly on Thursday, April 21st at the Oakland Museum. During this significant regional forum on "The Future of Regional Planning," attendees expressed their views on how to strengthen and improve regional planning through a greater integration of land use, housing, transportation and economic development work. Forum highlights included a presentation by Management Partners, merger study consultant on potential merger options for ABAG and the Metropolitan Transportation Commission. In the afternoon, participants attended breakout sessions where they held candid discussions with other elected officials on shared interests such as affordable housing and economic development.
