The Bay Area Regional Energy Network (BayREN), in partnership with the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), has developed the Local Government PACE Portal, a "one-stop shop" for local governments interested in allowing property owners to take advantage of PACE financing. This site includes introductory information about PACE (including a list of PACE providers in the nine Bay Area counties), outlines the steps necessary for making PACE available in your jurisdiction, and provides document templates to help staff prepare packets for presentation to local elected leaders.

Commercial Buildings

Commercial real estate differs greatly from residential: the building systems and ownership structures are more complex, in addition to how they are valued, appraised, leased, sold, renovated, and many other factors; as a result, commercial PACE is very different than residential PACE. This website is intended to provide a general overview of relevant issues related to PACE programs for local governments, with an emphasis on residential programs. But there are multiple options to access PACE for non-residential properties as well. Some PACE Providers offer both, while some specialize in one or the other. In addition to those noted in the "PACE Providers" section, commercial PACE is offered in these Bay Area jurisdictions as "stand alone" programs administered by local governments:
